 Oprah Winfrey: Gains weight
Oprah Winfrey seems to be very unhappy these days. Being embarrassed she said that she's "fallen off the wagon" of healthy living and has gained 200 pounds.
Details about Oprah Winfrey have been inferred from quite a number of sources. In January issue of a popular magazine, fifty four year old Oprah Winfrey has given a detail of her recent struggles with an out-of-balance thyroid and how the condition made her develop "a fear of working out." She said that she has gained forty pounds since the year 2006, when she weighed 160.
"I look at my thinner self and think, `How did I let this happen again?" added the talk-show queen in the article published in a famous publication.
Oprah Winfrey admitted, "I'm embarrassed," she says. "I'm mad at myself."
The weight and height of Oprah Winfrey put her body mass index at 31.8, which is obese. This is as per the recording of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The CDC also said that the people who are obese are at higher risk for acute health conditions like high blood pressure, diabetes and high cholesterol.
Oprah Winfrey added that she has abandoned the hope of trying to get thin. She just wants to be sturdy, healthy and fit. She hopes to get started with her forthcoming film titled "Best Life Week." It is going to start from 5th January with an episode of "The Oprah Winfrey Show”. Here also she is expected to talk bluntly about her weight.
Oprah has wheeled a wagon that is full with fat on the set of her talk show in the year 1988 in order to represent a 67-pound weight loss while wearing a pair of size 10 Calvin Klein jeans. She has managed to lose the weight with a liquid protein diet.
"When it comes to maintaining my health I didn't just fall off the wagon. I let the wagon fall on me," "I didn't follow my own fundamental rule of taking care of self first," commented the chairperson of Harpo Inc.
In the year 2005, Winfrey has made the confession that she starved herself for four months in order to lose weight. However she weighed almost 237 pounds and by late 1990 acknowledged that she regained most of the 67 pounds by saying that "I'll never diet again."
In the year 1993, she hired personal trainer Bob Greene and the next year finished the Marine Corps Marathon. By the year 1996 she said that her roller-coaster weight saga was over.
Nowadays Oprah Winfrey finds herself tipping the scales again. Last week during an interview with a popular television channel she said that she has yet to choose a gown for inaugural ball for President-elect Barack Obama sometime during next month.
Oprah Winfrey continued, "I had a dress on the vision board, but I'm not sure that's gonna fit," "So I have to work on something else." |
