 Christie Hefner: Steps down as Playboy’s CEO
On Monday the famous adult magazine Playboy has made the announcement that Christie Hefner is stepping down as CEO of the company that was founded by her father over 5 decades ago.
More information about Christie Hefner’s news has been inferred from quite a number of sources. In a statement Hefner added, "Last month marked my 20th anniversary as CEO." "Just as this country is embracing change in the form of new leadership, I have decided that now is the time to make changes in my own life as well."
The magazine further said that fifty six year old Christie Hefner would remain as CEO of Playboy Enterprises Inc. till January 31, 2009. In the meantime the board of directors would be searching for a substitute.
It is said that media executive Jerome Kern would serve as interim non-executive chairman.
"I have had a remarkable career with Playboy. I never expected to go into the family business, much less to stay here this long, but I have enjoyed the challenges and opportunities the past decades have presented," added Christie Hefner.
She continued, "I believe the company's businesses are well-positioned for future growth, and I can leave the company confident that the current management team will be able to capitalize on our achievements and the opportunities in development."
Eighty two year old Hugh Hefner, the father of Christie Hefner who has foundation of Playboy in the year 1953, commented that his daughter had "worked tirelessly to expand the company's franchise, and, as a result of her efforts, the company today has more consumers and fans than at any time in our history”.
In a statement she added, "While I will miss her leadership here, I believe that she will go on to achieve even greater personal success,"
