Angelina Jolie: Tops actress salary list
On Friday Oscar-winning actress Angelina Jolie has topped the Hollywood Reporter's list of highest-earning actresses.
Details about Angelina Jolie have been inferred from quite a number of sources. This year thirty three year old Jolie has earned 15 million dollars for the action movie titled "Wanted" and she could make 20 million dollars to star in a possible sequel.
Interestingly it is reported that the salaries are plummeting for top actresses and still lag the earnings of leading men.
Angelina Jolie has played dramatic roles in 2007's "A Mighty Heart" and also 2008’s "Changeling." Last month Angelina Jolie talked about her decision of doing less number of films in order to spend more time with her family members.
Forty one year old Julia Roberts has grabbed second position after her long absence from the screen and took 15 million dollars for the film "Duplicity," which will be released sometime next year.
The Hollywood actors are also earning less except Will Smith, star of blockbusters "Hancock" and "I Am Legend," who is asking rate that is as high as 25 million dollars per movie.
"Everyone else's prices have gone down," a source has told it to the reporters of a popular newspaper of United States.
Thirty two year old Reese Witherspoon, who was first in the female list last year after winning an Oscar award for her role for the 2005 movie titled "Walk the Line," has dropped to third position. She also earned 14 million dollars for her appearance in the comedy hit film "Four Christmases" that opened last week.
Other actresses namely Katherine Heigl, Kate Hudson, Cameron Diaz, Jennifer Aniston and Anne Hathaway rounded out the list, with 39-year-old "Friends" star Aniston earning over 8 million dollars for the comedy "Marley & Me". It will be opened on Christmas Day.
Stars like Halle Berry and Nicole Kidman earn less than 10 million dollars for a movie. |
