 John Forte: Faced verdict
John Forte, famous rapper and producer, who have worked closely with the Fugees before facing imprisonment for drug charges, had his sentence commuted on Monday by President George W. Bush.
More news on John Forte has been inferred from quite a number of sources. According to them, the musician was detained at Newark International Airport in the year 2000 for possession with intention of distributing cocaine and conspiracy. Policemen also identified Forte with 2 briefcases that were completely filled with liquid cocaine, whose price is as high as 1.4 million dollars.
He was sentenced to the mandatory minimum of 14 years and was serving time in Fort Dix, New Jersey. He will be released on December 22 after serving more than 7 years. He must serve 5 years of supervised probation.
Thirty three year old John Forte, who has co-written 2 songs on the Fugees' 1996 breakthrough, "The Score." He also released 2 solo albums, titled "Poly Sci" and "I, John."
Singer Carly Simon and her son, Ben, who attended Exeter Academy with Forte, were vocal advocates for the release of the artist. |
