Janet Jackson: Exposure goes for court reviewing
A problem has cropped up in the life of Janet Jackson, the famous singer. The broadcast regulatory agency of United States has asked the top court of the country to undertake the task of reviewing the lewdness case over Jackson's "wardrobe malfunction" that took place in the year 2004.
It is said that the singer has exposed her right breast during the Super Bowl half-time show.
The Federal Communications Commission also commented that the US Circuit Court of Appeals in a wrong way applied a rule and said that CBS were not responsible.
Nowadays he wants the US Supreme Court to force the television network to pay the 550,000 dollars as fine.
In the month of July a Philadelphia court has ruled that CBS channel would not have to pay the fine after the US Circuit Court of Appeals ruled that it was not responsible for the incident.
The FCC contends that the rule did not apply to images.
At the time, broadcasters did not use a video delay for live events. It is a practice that changed within a week of the game.
The incident created a record number of complaints that has reached a number of over 500,000. However CBS was quick to apologize.
Justin Timberlake, who was present in the performance along with Janet Jackson at the time, blamed the exposure on a "wardrobe malfunction". Jackson said that it was merely an accident. |
