 Prince Charles Windsor: Turns 60
Prince Charles Windsor will celebrate his 60th birthday on Friday. Silver-haired Prince of Wales posed in his uniform as Colonel of the Welsh Guards in an official portrait to mark his 60th birthday.
He is the first child of then Princess Elizabeth, Duchess of Edinburgh, and Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, and first grandchild of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth.
Prince Charles Windsor, the heir to the British throne has been celebrating his birthday all week, with a star-studded comedy show one night and a black-tie gala the next, but it is reported that the Prince of Wales will spend Friday meeting participants of a Prince's Trust scheme in London.
Camilla Parker Bowles, Prince Charles' wife will also be with him.
Prince Charles Windsor is patron of 350 different charities, 17 of which he founded himself. The Prince's Trust, which has helped more than half a million young people, is considered to be his greatest achievement.
Prince Charles Windsor's sons princes William and Harry paid tribute to their father at a black-tie dinner thrown by the Queen at Buckingham Palace on Thursday night. The sons said that their father was an inspiration to them and so many others. |
