 Nicole Kidman: Honored with Glamour's 'Women of the year'
Glamour magazine honored extraordinary women in New York as 2008 Women of the Year on Monday. Australian actress Nicole Kidman and U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice were among those.
Nicole Kidman has been honored for her work with the United Nations Development Fund for Women.
Nicole Kidman, 41, attended the event accompanied by her husband Keith Urban, 41. The couple welcomed their first child, daughter Sunday Rose Kidman Urban, on July 7, 2008, in Nashville, Tennessee.
Glamour said that the women were chosen because of their unprecedented contributions to the worlds of entertainment, fashion, sports, business, science and politics.
Other high-profile women on the Top 10 list included Hillary Clinton, and Jane Goodall, Tyra Banks, athletes Misty May-Treanor and Kerri Walsh, artist Kara Walker, human rights activists Nujood Ali and Shada Nasser and Chanel CEO Maureen Chiquet. |
