 Robert Downey Jr.: Stars in 'Iron Man' film
Robert Downey Jr., the popular actor, has signed a deal with Marvel Studios where he will not only undertake shooting of 2 more Iron Man films, but also reprise the role of Tony Stark and his heavy-metal alter ego in the forthcoming superhero all-stars film titled ‘The Avengers’. A popular newspaper has brought out this report.
Details about Robert Downey Jr. have been gathered fro quite a number of sources. While planning for the film titled Iron Man 2 has been in full swing for some time, the current announcement is that Don Cheadle will be portraying the character of Col. James Rhodes instead of Terrence Howard. However Marvel Studio has yet to confirm the fact that Downey and director Jon Favreau would be back.
Iron Man 2 is currently slated for a May 7, 2010, release, while The Avengers is tentatively set to unspool July 15, 2011.
Robert Downey Jr., who after Iron Man has created a splash this summer in the raunchy Tropic Thunder, is presently in London and is busy with his shooting for the titular sleuth in Guy Ritchie's Sherlock Holmes. Jude Law and Rachel McAdams have been selected as his co-stars. |
