 Britney Spears: Father retains control of affairs
Pop diva Britney Spears is in news again. Her father has retained control over the personal and business affairs of this problem-stricken singer for an indefinite period of time. On Tuesday a judge from Los Angeles has brought out this ruling.
More news on Britney Spears has been inferred from quite a number of sources. According to them, in the month of February her father and a lawyer from Los Angeles were first granted control of Britney’s affairs on a temporary basis. It was done after the Britney Spears was twice hospitalized for psychiatric evaluation.
Earlier the conservatorship was extended till December 31. However on Tuesday's closed-court hearing, the judge made it permanent. Britney Spears can ask for it to be lifted at a later date.
Media reports quoted the judge, Reva Goetz as saying, "The conservatorship is necessary and appropriate for the complexity of financial and business entities and her being susceptible to undue influence."
Since the month of February, twenty six year old Britney Spears has turned around her life, thereby reaching a custody settlement with ex-husband Kevin Federline. She also released a hit single titled "Womanizer." Apsrt from these she worked on a new album, won 3 MTV Video Music Awards and prepared for an expected first world tour since the year 2004.
As per the report of a popular website, Britney Spears’ lawyers has made a suggestion of making the conservatorship permanent. Quoting unnamed sources that are close to Spears, lawyers felt doing it so that it would boost the chances of the singer to regain custody of sons namely three-year-old Sean Preston and also two-year-old Jayden James in the future.
Another famous news magazine of United Spears also quoted Spears' lawyer as saying in an open courtroom. It is said that Britney "requested that I not object to the permanent conservatorship."
Spears always captured the sportlight of media for various incidents like shaving her head, going to a rehabilitation center, partying without underwear and wearing a pink wig.
Last week, Britney Spears escaped a criminal conviction for driving without a California license in the year 2007. It occurred after a Los Angeles jury deadlocked 10-2 in favor of an acquittal. If found guilty verdict Britney Spears would be given a criminal record. |
