 Scarlett Johansson: Got selected as a host of Nobel Peace Concert
Hollywood actress Scarlett Johansson is going to co-host the 2008 Nobel Peace Concert that will be held on Dec. 11 in honor of the noble laureate of this year namely Finnish peace mediator and former President Martti Ahtisaari. On Monday the organizers have highlighted this news.
More news on Scarlett Johansson has been gathered from multiple sources. According to them, the other co-host will be declared in the forthcoming weeks. This bit of information has been revealed in a statement that was provided to a popular news agency just ahead of its official release. Last year Hollywood stars namely Uma Thurman and Kevin Spacey hosted the show.
"We're extremely pleased Ms. Johansson will join us for the Nobel Peace Prize Concert," added non-voting secretary of the Norwegian Nobel Committee Geir Lundestad.
Lundestad also said that the concert that was aired in almost one hundred countries is the most popular event on the Nobel calendar.
Twenty three year old Scarlett Johansson will host a program that will be headed by Diana Ross. Canadian singer Leslie Feist, who performs under the name Feist, American country singer Dierks Bentley, Mexican singer-songwriter Julieta Venegas, and Nigerian star Seun Kuti will take part in it. This is as per the list that was released last week.
Scarlett Johansson rose to stardom through her role in the 1998 film "The Horse Whisperer" and also has grabbed the British Academy of Film and Television Arts’ best actress award for her the portrayal of character role in the 2003 film "Lost in Translation." She was opposite of Bill Murray
