Rodney Dangerfield: Widow settles video lawsuit
A judge of Los Angeles court has ordered Rodney Dangerfield's former friend not to distribute video footage of the late comedian, which was taken during the final years of his life.
Late Rodney Dangerfield's wife Joan Dangerfield has filed a lawsuit last year against the producer David Permut in this connection. The permanent injunction settled that lawsuit. Lawyers for Joan Dangerfield filed the court papers in the case on Tuesday.
Joan filed a lawsuit against Permut after he showed the video of her husband to two writers and was planning on editing the 200 hours of footage into a documentary called "Respect".
American comedian and actor Rodney Dangerfield died in October 2004 at the age of 82.
Attorneys for both the parties refused to comment on the case. They only said that the terms of the settlement are confidential. |
