 Lorne Michaels: Talks about 'SNL'
Lorne Michaels, the executive producer of "Saturday Night Live," captured the spotlight with his prediction that the presidential and vice presidential candidates will appear on the comedy show before the election.
More news on Lorne Michaels has been inferred from quite a number of sources. On Tuesday during a telephonic interview Lorne commented, "I think, sooner or later, everyone will come through". He has declined to comment anything on possible appearance of celebrities like U.S. Sens. John McCain and Barack Obama, as well as their running mates, Sen. Joseph Biden and Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin on "Saturday Night Live".
Lorne Michaels continued, "In 2000, both Bush and Gore came on," As for when this crop of candidates would appear, Michael said, "I don't know when. We're always talking to everyone."
Regarding Tina Fey's coming back to reprise her role as Sarah Palin before the election, Michaels commented, "I think that's likely."
Although Fey's depiction of Palin has helped to achieve a fifty percent increase in ratings over last year, Michaels has confirmed what Fey said during an interview with TV Guide.
Lorne Michaels further added that cast member Kristin Wiig would likely to play the Alaska governor if the need arise sometime during Nov. 4.
Michaels also told the Tribune exclusively that Ben Affleck would be the host on the show that will be broadcasted on Nov. 1. David Cook of "American Idol" fame will be the musical guest.
"SNL's" final pre-election broadcast will be aired on Nov. 3. |
