 Tim Robbins: Receives star of 'Hollywood Walk of Fame'
Tim Robbins, an Academy Award-winning actor, director, activist and hockey fanatic, has received a prestigious award. On Friday he has received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Sources have thrown more light on the news of Tim Robbins. As per their reports, Tim expressed his feeling regarding the whole matter. He commented, "I used to take the bus from here to Burbank to go to work." "When the bus was late, I would walk up and down and throw my cigarettes down. Now I have the honor of having this done to my star."
Guests at the ceremony included Susan Sarandon, long time partner of Tim Robbins and also actor Jack Black, who claimed that he knew the tall, lanky Robbins for twenty-five years.
Further Black chuckled and said, "I literally looked up to him," "I actually became his stalker because I wanted to be part of his world."
Tim Robbins was nominated for a best-director Oscar in the year 1996 for "Dead Man Walking." In fact he was the co-writer of the movie. Sarandon has received Oscar award for best actress for her role in the movie.
"I am so pleased to be a part of his life, and I want to present Tim's best production — our three kids," added Sarandon.
Born in West Covina, Calif., and raised in New York City, Tim Robbins came from a family of entertainers. His father, Gil Robbins, has played with the folk group namely The Highwaymen during 1960s.
Forty nine year old Tim Robbins is famous for his inclination for bold roles. He has appeared in higly controversial films like "Mystic River," "The Shawshank Redemption," "Jacob's Ladder" and "The Player."
In Clint Eastwood's "Mystic River," Tim Robbins has portrayed the character of a man who is haunted by memories of childhood sexual abuse. For this role he won Oscar award for best supporting actor in the year 2004. |
