 Jesse L. Martin: Acts in 'Philanthropist'
Fans of actor Jesse L. Martin have enough reason to be excited. He is returning to NBC channel with a role in the drama series titled "The Philanthropist."
More news on Jesse L. Martin has been inferred from quite a number of sources. After a long-drawn conversation with the network, Martin is negotiating with the co-star on the midseason show.
The story of "Philanthropist" is based on Teddy Rist (Purefoy), a renegade billionaire who uses his wealth, connections and power for helping hapless and poor people of the entire world. Jesse L. Martin would portray the character of Philip Maidstone, who is Teddy's business partner and lifelong friend.
Production of the series will be based in London through NBC Universal's international TV production unit. Shooting of the film has taken place in places like South Africa and the Czech Republic.
After a nine-year tenure as Detective Ed Green on "L&O," Jesse L. Martin presently has wrapped the independent features "Peter and Vandy" and "Silent Rhythm" and narrated the Marvin Gaye documentary titled "What's Going On." He will portray the character of Gaye in the biopic "Sexual Healing."
