Bruce Springsteen: Preps for Super Bowl performance
Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band will take the stage during the Bridgestone Super Bowl XLIII Halftime Show on NBC at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa on Sunday, February 1. The NFL and NBC announced this tonight.
The Super Bowl halftime show is annually the most-watched musical performance. This year, more than 148 million viewers in the U.S. watched Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers play at the championship game of American football. The National Football League said this on Sunday.
Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band join an esteemed list of recent halftime acts that includes the Rolling Stones, U2, Paul McCartney, Prince and Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers.
The 59 year old Bruce Springsteen has ramped up his recording and touring activity in the latter half of this decade, releasing new albums in 2005 "Devils & Dust", 2006 "We Shall Overcome: The Seeger Sessions" and 2007 "Magic" and touring behind each of those releases.
Apart from what should surely be a top-notch performance by Bruce Springsteen, fans can at least feel safe that no wardrobe malfunctions are likely to occur with this bunch. |
