Lauren Ambrose: Stars in program 'Unorthodox'
Lauren Ambrose has been chosen as the cast of "Unorthodox," a presentation of Hallmark Hall of Fame for CBS channel. Adam Kaufman also leads the cast of the presentation.
Apart from Lauren Ambrose, Susie Essman, Ricki Lake and Mercedes Ruehl also act as co-stars of the film, which is presently under production.
More news about Lauren Ambrose has been gathered from multiple sources. To be specific, based on the play of P'nenah Goldstein's "Loving Leah," "Unorthodox" centers on Jake (Kaufman), a thirty year old doctor whose estranged older brother, a rabbi in a close-knit Hasidic community, has died. After that Jake is asked to marry his late brother's widow, Leah (Ambrose), thereby giving honor to the ancient Levirate Marriage Law.
To keep their mothers happy, Jake and Leah decide to enter a marriage of pretense, living separate at Jake's apartment. Later it seems to be even more challenging, especially when they have started to fall for each other.
Lake has portrayed the character of a Washington rabbi who befriends Leah. Christy Pusz also plays the role of Jake's girlfriend.
Jeff Bleckner is directing Lauren Ambrose’s "Unorthodox" from a script written by Goldstein. |
