 Sean Connery: Launches new book
Sean Connery, the former James Bond star, has undertaken a new venture. Being a passionate supporter of Scottish independence, he has launched his long-awaited memoirs, namely "Being a Scot." It was brought out at a literary festival in Edinburgh on the occasion of his seventy-eighth birthday.
"Being a Scot has made all the difference in my life," added Sean Connery.
Details about Sean Connery have been inferred from multiple sources. As per their reports, the book is a mixture of autobiography and for his write ups Connery has taken resort to the influence of Scots on everything starting from history to literature and sport. In fact it will be featured in over four hundred photographs from his personal collection.
Sean Connery too was available for his comments regarding the whole issue. He confessed that the idea was drawn forth as a documentary series for television. "But as we were preparing the script we realised that it would be unworkable so we decided to make a book instead.” "Even then we ended up having too much, things were coming fast and furious," he told a packed audience which included Scottish First Minister Alex Salmond, the leader of the Scottish National Party”, said Connery.
In his book Sean has described about his childhood days in the tough Fountainbridge area of Edinburgh and also told about his first job of delivering milk on a pony-drawn cart before his first appearance as 007 in 1962's "Dr No."
Sean Connery, who has been voted on regular basis as the favorite Bond of the audiences, has not appeared in a major film since "The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen" in the year 2003.
Sean also has provided the hint of starting of a new project. However he declined to say anything in details. He said, “I've a feeling there is something cooking. I don't know what it is yet."
Despite his love of Scotland, Sean Connery has lived for several decades in the Bahamas and also told about his wish that he will only return to Scotland permanently when it gains full independence. |
