 USA men's basketball team drives toward gold
The USA men's basketball team waited for four years and finally took revenge for their humiliating semi-final defeat in Athens by outclassing defending champion Argentina at the Beijing Olympics to reach in the final.
Carmelo Anthony scored 21 points as the Americans whipped Argentina 101-81 in the semifinals on Friday night.
USA will play Spain in final on Sunday.
Spain defeated Lithuania 91-86 in the earlier semi-final to claim their second-ever Olympic final against the United States.
The USA team of high profile superstars led by Kobe Bryant, LeBron James and Carmelo Anthony were hell-bent on revenge for their humbling Athens 2004 semi-final loss to Argentina, led by Manu Ginobili and a group of fellow NBA players.
USA has won all seven of its games in Beijing by an average of 30.3 points. Even so, the players said they've yet to achieve their only goal.
