 Fran Drescher: Proclaims love for Obama
American actress Fran Drescher proclaimed her love for Obama on Thursday night at the Black and White Gala for Barack Obama at a private home in Beverly Hills.
Among the stars, who attended the Black and White Gala, were Jamie Foxx, Lucy Liu and Isaiah Washington.
According to a source' report, the VIP donors paid $2,300 each to attend the Gala.
At the party, everyone including Fran Drescher set the evening's tone with a rousing song: "Time for a change. We are the people, we can do it".
Theresa DeBell, who hosted the event with her husband, Robert Siegel said that the party raised more than $200,000 for the Obama campaign.
Foxx, who is set to appear at the Democratic National Convention in Denver, greeted congressmen and other guests at a table in the corner.
Fran Drescher, who is also a women's-health advocate and worked with Obama on the Gynecologic Cancer Education and Awareness Act, was mistress of ceremonies. Drescher said that she originally supported Hillary Clinton but now she is fully behind Barack Obama.
Fran Drescher said regarding Obama, "He stands for everything that I believe in. I think he is inspirational, and that's what this country needs right now".
Fran Drescher also said that she still hopes Obama might pick Clinton as his running mate. |
