 Ryan Seacrest: Selected as co-host of "Rockin' Eve"
ABC and Dick Clark Productions announced on Thursday that Ryan Seacrest has been selected as permanent co-host of "Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve" and his name will be added to the title.
The annual fixture has been renamed as "Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve with Ryan Seacrest".
The 78 year old Dick Clark, who has suffered a stroke four years ago, is still scheduled to co-host the New Year's countdown.
According to DCP, last year's prime-time portion of "New Year's Rockin' Eve" scored the broadcast's largest viewership in six years.
Ryan Seacrest began his career in 1990 at age 15 with Atlanta radio station WSTR/Star 94 FM as a host. Seacrest's first major television job was as the host of "The New Edge", a weekend morning show created by CNET showcasing new technology.
