Joss Stone: Plans to play homely wife in 'Tudors'
Joss Stone, the famous singer from Britain, is entering the world of drama. As her first major acting role, she is going to portray fourth wife of Henry VIII namely Anne of Cleves, in Showtime's drama titled “The Tudors."
Details about Joss Stone’s news have been inferred from quite a number of sources. The performance will be a short one since Anne was only married to Henry (Jonathan Rhys Meyers) for almost 6 months.
Anne was a German nobleman’s daughter who got involved to Henry in a marriage treaty between the Cleves Court and the chancellor of the king after Henry was shown a portrait of her.
Upon the arrival of Anne in England, Henry was disappointed by her looks and soon found a legal way to annul the marriage.
According to Showtime, the forthcoming season of this royal drama will follow the king as he gets married to Jane Seymour (Anita Briem) and then Anne of Cleves.
