 Verne Troyer: Sues ex-girl friend
There is a new twist in the case of Verne Troyer, the famous actor. In fact the feud over a sex tape featuring Verne Troyer has restarted since the actor has brought out litigation against his ex-girlfriend who was also seen in the tape. He brought out the allegation that she has given permission of releasing snippets of the aforesaid tape.
The lawsuit of Verne Troyer claims that ex-girlfriend called Ranae Shrider was offensive and also inflicted emotional distress on the "Austin Powers" actor.
The new lawsuit comes roughly 2 weeks after Verne has brought out the settlement with a porn distributor and broker and also successfully created a block on the release of fifty minute tape that shows Verne and Shrider having sex. The new suit that was filed on Thursday in the District Court of United States is an outgrowth of that original claim.
In late June, a celebrity gossip site has revealed that the tape existed and was being marketed. The site later disclosed by citing the documents of the court that Shrider has granted permission to air portions of the tape.
In the court papers Verne Troyer originally claimed that the tape has been stolen. According to the lawsuit the detail was incorporated since Shrider in verge of tears told Troyer that she did not know how the tape became public and that it must have been stolen from their home.
Keith Davidson, attorney of Shrider, also was available for comments. He said that none of the defendants has been served with the lawsuit and attacked it for being leaked to a celebrity gossip site before it was filed officially.
"The recently revealed lawsuit that was sheepishly leaked to the press by Troyer's attorney is an abomination of the legal process," Davidson wrote this in an e-mail to a popular news agency.
He claimed Verne Troyer was being "vindictive, heartbroken" and is a "trivial celebrity" who has launched the suit in order to keep his name in the spotlight.
Troyer is highly acclaimed for his role as Mini Me in two of the "Austin Powers" movies. His current lawsuit claims that the broadcasting of the tape involves an intrusion of privacy, misappropriation of his name, voice and likeness, and also a copyright violation.
In fact he is also asking a federal judge to grant a temporary injunction that is going to bar Shrider and others from selling the tape. Troyer also has sought the return or destruction of all copies of the video.
The lawsuit also has named another woman called Holly Bannon that Troyer's attorney claims that she is trying to sell the tape along with an attorney named Okorie Okorocha. However as self defense Okorocha said that he has never seen the tape. In fact he is simply trying to negotiate a deal between Verne Troyer and a client who has since dropped him.
In addition to seeking damages for the release of the tape, new lawsuit of Troyer lawsuit also claims Shrider to have refused to move out of Troyer's home after their breakup, and at one point pinned him to a wall and even broke a video camera.
Ed McPherson, the attorney of Verne Troyer, has said that the actor will pursue all sorts of legal action thereby keeping away the tape from being sold. |
