 Gary Glitter: To be released from prison
Gary Glitter, the famous pop singer from Britain, will be released from prison at Vietnam on August 19 after serving a 3 year term for child molestation. On Friday an official has given the confirmation of the news.
Details about the news on Gary Glitter have been gathered from quite a number of sources. According to them, Gary, whose real name is Paul Francis Gadd, was detained in Vietnam on November 19, 2005. He has been accused of committing obscene acts with two young girls aged 11 and 12 in the resort town of Vung Tau in southern part of Vietnam.
"According to Vietnamese law, Glitter will be freed on August 19.” An official from the department Chu Xuan Mau has told this to the reporters.
"The decision on his release will be read before him that day. It will be signed by the director of the prison," commented the same source while talking to the reporters of a famous news agency about Gary Glitter.
On March 2006, Gary Glitter was sentenced to imprisonment for three years. However he was being granted with a three-month reduction in the year 2007 when Vietnam marked its traditional Tet lunar new year.

In the month of June, the online edition of a famous newspaper of United States quoted Glitter as saying that he would continue with his unfinished album when being released and might also consider settling down in countries like Hong Kong or Singapore.
Gary Glitter, the former "glam rocker" once famed for his flamboyant bouffant wigs and silver jumpsuits, was also imprisoned in the year 1999 by a British court for possessing child pornography.
He also has served half of a four-month term. After that he went to Britain and also went to several other countries like Cambodia, before making a move for Vietnam.
