J K Rowling: Publishes fairy tales for charity
On Thursday J K Rowling has made the announcement that she is going to publish a book of tales of wizards in the month of December and contribute a huge amount of eight million dollars in proceeds to her charity for all the hapless children.
More details about J K Rowling’s news have been gathered from quite a number of sources. According to her, the book titled "The Tales of Beedle the Bard," will be published on December 4. It is mentioned in the seventh and final book on Harry Potter as having been left to Harry's friend Hermione Granger by Professor Albus Dumbledore, who is the headmaster of their school Hogwarts.
J K Rowling initially only produced seven copies of "The Tales," that were bounded in brown Moroccan leather and also decorated in silver and moonstones.
In fact J K Rowling has already distributed 6 copies to people who are closely connected to the Potter books and also have auctioned off the seventh, which was bought in the month of December by Amazon.com Inc, the famous web retailer who has set the record of selling books for about 4 million dollars.
Bloomsbury Publishing and Scholastic will now publish editions along with an introduction by J K Rowling. As per plan, Amazon also will produce up to 100,000 edition copies of the collector, which will aim to imitate the look and feel of the original book and also sell for 100 dollars.
"The new edition will include the Tales themselves, translated from the original runes by Hermione Granger, and with illustrations by me, but also notes by Professor Albus Dumbledore, which appear by generous permission of the Hogwarts Headmasters' Archive." This has been flashed in a statement that has been made by J K Rowling.
J K Rowling further said that the proceeds from the book would be given as donation to the Children's High Level Group, a charity that she has formed in the year 2005 to help near about one million children across Europe. These children still are living in large residential institutions.
J K Rowling’s new book of one hundred and fifty seven pages constitutes of five stories. Amongst theses stories only one titled “The Tale of the Three Brothers," is depicted in the Potter novels. It appears in the final Potter book, "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows."
Last year when it was published in the month of July, the final Harry Potter book broke down all sales records and thus became all time fastest selling book. Interestingly J K Rowling’s Harry Potter books have sold more than three hundred and fifty million copies through out the world and have been translated into sixty five languages. |
