Elizabeth Berkley: Project undertaken with MTV
MTV is developing an important project with actress Elizabeth Berkley and her husband, artist Greg Lauren. The aforesaid project is based on Ask-Elizabeth, the self-esteem workshops for teen girls that Berkley has created.
Elizabeth Berkley has volunteered her time that facilitates Ask-Elizabeth workshops both in schools and for organizations around the country for nearly twenty two years. In fact her website features a library of video content that is meant for helping the girls to get empowered worldwide.
The MTV project, entitled "Ask-Elizabeth," is being developed in the News & Docs division of the network. According to Amy Bailey, Vice president of development in the department, Elizabeth Berkley approached MTV with the idea.
"She does these workshops around the country with teen girls and gets them to really open up about their issues, like self-esteem and body issues." "We had been looking for a program that tackled the same issues, so it seemed like a perfect match," added Elizabeth Berkley.
Further Bailey said that MTV is eager to shoot the pilot in the fall.
"It'll be more than just films of her workshops," "It'll probably be more verite, where we'll film with Elizabeth and girls around the country in their own hometowns and watch as the events unfold." Bailey has made this comment by saying that Berkley will be featured in the project while her husband will remain busy with the activities from behind the scenes.
Elizabeth Berkley has a recurring role on CBS' "CSI: Miami" and hosts Bravo's "Step It Up and Dance." Currently she completed work of production of films like "S. Darko" and "The Butler's in Love." |
