British rocker, Pete Doherty, has escaped a threat of arrest on Friday in spite of failing to turn up to court on charges of criminal damage. A representative from court has confirmed the news on the same day.
Details about news on Pete Doherty have been highlighted by reporters. An arrest warrant was originally issued after he failed to show at Yeovil Magistrates Court on Thursday. He was alleged of damaging a photographer's camera that costs 200 pounds (250 euros or 400 dollars).
But a court official told AFP that the warrant was subsequently withdrawn, and a new hearing has now been rearranged for July 24.
Twenty nine year old Pete Doherty has been accused of having ripped the camera from Cath Mead’s neck. The incident happened when she tried to take pictures of the rocker and his the then girlfriend, Irina Lazareanu.
This Babyshambles frontman has been making tour to entire Europe thereby playing the Montreux Jazz Festival on Tuesday. He is also going to attend the Vieilles Charrues Festival in France on Thursday, and was due to play Benicassim Festival in Spain sometime later on Friday.
Pete Doherty, ex boyfriend of Kate Moss, has failed to attend a previous hearing that is related to the same charges, on June 26 that would affect the strictness of his punishment.
The court spokesman further commented, "It's not appropriate for me to speculate. It is for the magistrates to consider but they will take it into account." |
