 Bruce Lee: Home to be turned into museum
A developer namely Yu Pang-lin who presently owns the old home of Bruce Lee in Hong Kong has lobbied the government to turn the property into a museum. This has happened on Thursday.
More news about Bruce Lee has been inferred from quite a number of sources. Regarding the issue he met the commerce and economic development secretary of Hong Kong about his plans for the two-storied house, currently used as an hourly motel.
Eighty six year old developer-turned-philanthropist has put Bruce Lee’s property on sale so that he could raise money for victims of the recent earthquake in Sichuan province of China. But he changed his mind after fans of the late martial-arts star expressed worries about the possible destruction of the building.
In fact he is very much willing to donate the property, where Bruce Lee has lived from 1972 to 1973. He also wanted the Hong Kong government to set up a trust that will hold the property and spearheaded efforts to plan and raise funds for the museum. This bit of information has been revealed by a local politician named Michael Tien who attended the meeting on Thursday.
Chairman of the property consultant company Michael Choi who was handling the sale of the property for Yu too was available for comments regarding Bruce Lee’s property dispute. He said that the house and the land fetched an offer of over 13 million dollars.
However the press secretary for Commerce and Economic Development Secretary namely Frederick Ma didn't immediately return calls about Yu's proposal.
Bruce Lee, who passed away in Hong Kong in the year 1973 at an early age of thirty two years due to brain swelling, was born in San Francisco but grew up in Hong Kong.
