 Kylie Minogue: Receives royal honor
Another accolade is going to be added to the feat of the actress Kylie Minogue. This forty year old Minogue will receive the award of Order of the British Empire (OBE) for her tremendous contribution to the world of music. The award will be bestowed upon her during a gala investiture ceremony that is scheduled to be held in the ballroom of Buckingham Palace.
Reporters have collected more information regarding Kylie Minogue’s news. Since the Queen has gone to Scotland for the week, it is expected that Prince Charles or Princess Anne Minogue will be presenting her OBE.
Kylie Minogue too has expressed her views. Last December when she discovered that she would be made an Officer in the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire, Minogue said that she was "deeply touched".
"I am almost as surprised as I am honoured to be awarded an OBE by Her Majesty the Queen." "I feel deeply touched to be acknowledged by the UK, my adopted home, in this way," added Minogue.
Apart from Kylie Minogue, there are many more personalities who too have received OBEs. They include artist Sir William Dobell, tennis champion John Newcombe, entertainer Rolf Harris, fashion designer Prue Acton composer Peter Sculthorpe, and aviatrix Nancy Bird-Walton.

The investiture at Buckingham Palace is followed just after France awarded Kylie Minogue its highest cultural honor, the Order of Arts and Letters, in the month of May.
The prestigious honors can be regarded as the mark of appreciation for the massive success of the singer, who first hit Australian music top chart list in the year 1987 with her single titled Locomotion.
Kylie Minogue went on to enjoy massive success in Britain, where she teamed up with hit producers namely Stock, Aitken and Waterman.
Since then she has released nine studio albums and sold out 6 world tours. Apart from that Kylie also got herself busy in launching her own perfume, lingerie line and collection of home wares.
During her career, Kylie Minogue has won a Grammy award as well as several Brit Awards, Logies and ARIAs and also three Ivor Novello Awards.
But her success has been tinged with misfortune and hardship.
In the year 2005, she has been diagnosed with breast cancer thereby splitting with her French actor boyfriend Olivier Martinez last year.
