 Amy Winehouse: Waxwork to take place in museum
A wax statue of troubled British soul singer Amy Winehouse, replicating her myriad tattoes and beehive hairstyle, will be unveiled in Madame Tussauds museum. The General Manager of the museum said this on Monday.
The 24 year old Amy Winehouse, who has been diagnosed with the lung disease emphysema, has returned to a London clinic for treatment after performing at the concert in London to mark the 90th birthday of Nelson Mandela and the Glastonbury rock festival in southwest England at the weekend.
Edward Fuller, the General Manager of the museum said that the museum is "really pleased to be creating a statue of Amy Winehouse."
Mr. Fuller said, "She is a real icon in modern British music, a continual award winner, and an internationally recognised star widely requested by our guests".
Amy Winehouse, whose battle with drugs and "exhaustion" has been widely reported in the tabloid press, was taken to hospital last week after fainting at her home. Her father said that she had traces of the lung disease emphysema.
The statue will be unveiled in late July. |
