 Kanye West: Explains Bonnaroo delay
Hip-hop star Kanye West defended himself from the criticism over his delayed performance at Bonnaroo. He said that he was late at the Bonnaroo music festival in Tennessee because the previous act played longer than expected.
Kanye West faced criticism because his June 15 set at the four-day-long festival started at 4:25 a.m., two hours later than scheduled time.
He wrote on his blog that his performance was delayed because Pearl Jam played an hour longer than expected and then it took time for work crews to set the stage for West's act.
As time passed, some impatient fans left, some people waited for West's concert to begin and many in the crowd pelted the stage with glow sticks and beer.
Kanye West wrote on his blog that he was offended that anyone would think he doesn't care about his fans and blamed the delay on festival organizers.
He wrote, "This Bonnaroo thing is the worst insult I've ever had in my life. This is the most offended I've ever been ... this is the maddest I ever will be".
Kanye West was critical of the festival for not releasing a statement in his defense.
In his blog, Kanye West said, "Bonnaroo should have released a statement in my defense but since they haven't, let's break down the walls on this Truman Show and let you know what really occurred. I understand if people don't like me because I like me or if people think tight clothes look gay or people say I run my mouth to much, but this Bonnaroo thing is the worst insult I've ever had in my life. ... I'm sorry to everyone that I didn't have the ability to give the performance I wanted to. I'm sorry".
He also said, "Call me what you want, but never say I didn't give my all". |
