Ellen DeGeneres: Dominates at Emmy award
Comedian Ellen DeGeneres has captured the Daytime Emmy spotlight on Friday. During the 35th annual Daytime Emmy ceremony at Hollywood's Kodak Theatre that was held on Friday night DeGeneres has been bestowed upon with the honor of being the best talk show host. Thus she has won it for four times in a row.
Although Ellen DeGeneres has won the prize her program lost to "Rachael Ray. In fact "Rachael Ray" has had a surprising win in the talk show category, thereby beating veteran talk show winners "The View" and "The Ellen DeGeneres Show."
When asked whether DeGeneres considering pulling the fans of Oprah Winfrey would refrain from submitting herself for future honors, Ellen DeGeneres said that "I'm not going to take my name out," "Oprah has made so many bad choices. Look at her career."
More information about Ellen DeGeneres has been inferred from quite a number of sources. After this achievement she has prevailed again over the five-woman co-hosting ensemble of "The View," led by creator-producer Barbara Walters and newly installed moderator Whoopi Goldberg, who replaced Rosie O'Donnell on the ABC series last fall.
Thus Ellen DeGeneres' win has proved once again that this year has been a real roller-coaster for the comedian in which she sparked a national uproar over an adopted puppy, ad-libbed her way through the writers strike. To top it all just last month only she came with her plans to wed her long-time partner immediately after a California court ruling that has given legal permission for gay marriage.
"I never take this for granted," "This has been a crazy year and ... we've done a lot of crying and a lot of laughing, and I cried all by myself and then people laughed." This comment has been made by fifty year old Ellen DeGeneres, while taking the stage for accepting the prize.
The 35th annual edition of the ceremony was aired live on ABC channel.
Another team of perennial joint nominees, namely Regis Philbin and Kelly Ripa of the morning show titled "Live with Regis and Kelly," extended their losing streak as well.
However Philbin’s , the popular host of onetime game show hit "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire," has got a lifetime achievement award.
