Faye Wong: Voted as Asia's sexiest vegetarian female
Faye Wong, singer cum actress of China has been declared as the sexiest vegetarian women of Asia. This announcement was made on Wednesday on the basis of a poll that was coordinated by animal rights group namely People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA).
Faye Wong, often referred as "heavenly queen" or the "diva of Asia", has defeated last year's winner Maggie Q, star of "Mission: Impossible II", in the same survey organized by PETA.
Beijing-born Faye Wong has drawn admiration from the audiences for her movies like “Chungking Express" and "In the Mood for Love". Both these films were internationally acclaimed by Hong Kong director Wong Kar-wai. Acknowledging her achievement Wong’s picture also has been published in the covers of famous magazines of United States like Vogue, Elle and Marie Claire.
Apart from Faye Wong, Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan also has won the title of sexiest vegetarian man from Asia in this month-long survey.
PETA has a track record of using celebrities in order to attract public attention for its campaigns. Even they have gone to the extent of persuading top-notch models namely Christy Turlington and Naomi Campbell to pose naked for posters bearing the slogan "I'd rather go naked than wear fur."
