 Patti LuPone: Works on memoir
Patti LuPone, the ‘Broadway star’, who has gained recognition for her Tony Award-winning roles in programs like"Gypsy" and "Evita," is busy in working on a memoir. It is also tentatively scheduled to be released in the year 2010 by Harmony Books, an imprint of Random House Inc.
Patti LuPone’s book is currently untitled. However financial details were not available.
More information about Patti LuPone has been gathered from the publisher himself. According to the publisher, the actress will write about her whole life. To quote from publisher’s words , "From her beginnings in Northport, Long Island, where she discovered that being onstage was the one place she couldn't get into trouble, she takes us on the roller-coaster of professional highs ... and emotional lows (her humiliating firing from `Sunset Boulevard,' nightclub work in the Catskills to pay the bills)."
Patti LuPone has an outstanding career in the arena of acting. In fact she has won her first Tony award in the year 1980 for portraying the character of Argentine leader Eva Peron in the Andrew Lloyd Webber-Tim Rice musical called "Evita." In addition she also has received her second Tony award on Sunday night for her performance in the Broadway revival of "Gypsy." She plays Madame Rose, the driven stage mother who inspires her daughters to enter into show business. Amongst her daughters the ugly duckling Louise becomes the legendary stripper Gypsy Rose Lee.
Patti LuPone's other stage credits include the original London company of "Les Miserables" and Broadway revivals of "Sweeney Todd" and "Anything Goes." Apart from theatres she also has made her appearance in films like "Witness," "Driving Miss Daisy" and "Summer of Sam." In the television series "Life Goes On," Patti LuPone’s graceful appearance was highly appreciated by the audiences. |
