Daniel Craig invited to join the Academy

Casino Royale actor Daniel Craig has been invited to join the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Science.

The prestigious invite gives Daniel Craig the right to vote for their choices at next year's Academy Award ceremony.

Other British members of the film industry to be inducted into the Academy this year include Michael Sheen and Paul Greengrass.

American entrants include the likes of Jennifer Aniston, Steve Carell and Eddie Murphy.

The Academy has been traditionally very secretive about its members although this is the fourth year that its inductees have been publicly announced.
