50 Cent: Judge orders to hold on to property
On Tuesday a judge has passed the order that the musician 50 Cent should hold on to the disputed property.
State Supreme Court Justice Carol Edmead ordered the rapper 50 Cent, whose real name is Curtis Jackson, to put any insurance proceeds that he might receive in future, into a trust account. Such proceeding has been undertaken after $50 million lawsuit has been filed against him earlier this year by his girlfriend Shaniqua Tompkins.
Tompkins' lawyer, Paul Catsandonis, requested the orders so that his client can have access to some of 50 Cent's assets if she wins a judgment. He said 50 Cent, who was not present in court, agreed years ago to give Tompkins half of his earnings for life.
The residence has been the subject of an intense feud between 50 Cent and Tompkins.
Thirty two year old Tompkins has put forth a serious blame against him. According to her, though 50 Cent has promised her a house more than a decade ago while she was supporting him, the rapper has failed to keep up the promise. According to her ever since their breakup, he has been trying to evict her and their 11-year-old son, Marquise from the home.
Located in the Long Island community of Dix Hills this beautiful mansion of 50 Cent was destroyed in a suspicious fire on May 30. Authorities are still carrying on investigation procedure during the blaze.
On Tuesday outside the court premises Tompkins said that 50 Cent has threatened her earlier that week. However the rapper's lawyer, Brett Kimmel, has denied such charge. Kimmel said that his client has nothing to do with the fire and was in Louisiana at the time.
Six people, including Tompkins and her son, were treated for smoke inhalation. The rapper 50 Cent was not present there.
During the hearing, Edmead ordered Tompkins to pay 50 Cent 4,500 dollars as rent for May by Friday. So far, the rapper has paid $6,700 to Tompkins per month as child support. Also $4,500 was paid as a housing allowance.
Tompkins, who has started dating with 50 Cent in the year 1995, did not hide her feelings regarding the whole incident. On Tuesday she has admitted that she is completely shattered. "All we have are the clothes we jumped out of the window with," added the lady.
Tompkins denounced 50 Cent for failing to contact her or even his son even after hearing about the blaze. She said her son was "traumatized" by his father remaining on a movie set and did not bother to call them even after the desolation of their house.
"He's not a good father," "He doesn't care about his son at all." added Tompkins.
The rapper has been nominated for thirteen Grammy awards, including nominations for the song titled "In da Club" and the album namely"Get Rich or Die Tryin'." In the year 2005, he starred with Terrence Howard in a ‘semi-autobiographical movie’ based on that album. |
