51st Grammy Award scheduled to be held on 8 Feb 2009
It is time for the music lovers to rock and roll out of joy. The reason is that the prestigious 51st annual Grammy Awards will be held at Staples Center on Feb. 8, 2009. CBS channel has got the permission of live broadcasting the ceremony.
"What better place to host music's biggest night than ... right in the heart of the great city of Los Angeles," added Jack Sussman of CBS in a statement on Wednesday.
Presented by the Recording Academy, the Grammy Awards felicitate the musical achievements of the singers of various genres. Last year 50th Grammy Awards was held on February 10. Amy Winehouse and many more got the awards last year. Eminent artists like Alicia Keys, Beyonce Knowles put up performances on the award night. Special recognition of the musical contributions of Beatles Group was also featured in the ceremony.
The nominees of this year Grammy awards will be announced on 4th December 2008.
