There is a new development in the case of DMX, the rap singer. He has pleaded not to be guilty of charges like possession of felony drug and misdemeanor animal cruelty abuse. On Thursday a judge has entered the plea for this musician-actor whose real name is Earl Simmons during a short court hearing. However DMX has arrived late at the court premises.
Details about DMX’s case have been gathered from various sources. Thirty seven year old rapper has been accused last week on 11 counts. These include felony marijuana and paraphernalia possession and seven counts of misdemeanor animal cruelty.
The charges against DMX have stemmed from a raiding in the month of August by the concerned authorities. They were investigating if he had neglected twelve pit bulls at his Phoenix residence. According to them, some of the dogs were dehydrated and appeared to be underfed. Three dogs were found buried in the back yard of his residence.
Earlier also DMX has violated laws. On June 2006, Scottsdale police accused him for carrying a hidden handgun outside a nightclub. He also served seventy days in prison in the year 2005 for the breach of his parole. It was followed by an incident that has happened in the year 2004 in which he posed as an undercover federal agent and crashed his sport utility vehicle through a security gate at the Kennedy International Airport.
DMX recorded the 1999 hit single titled "Party Up (Up in Here)." His last album, called “Year of the Dog ... Again," was brought out last year.
