 Dennis Farina: Apologizes for arrest with gun
Actor and former Chicago police officer Dennis Farina has been arrested on Sunday at Los Angeles International Airport. A loaded gun was found with him at a security checkpoint. He has apologized for the incident.
The 64 year old actor, who has built his Hollywood career playing detective roles, said that he was embarrassed by the arrest.
Dennis Farina said, "I apologize to anyone and everyone that I have caused any embarrassment or inconvenience to. It is my own stupidity to find myself in this embarrassing situation. I'll be spending the next few days kicking my own a--. No one is more embarrassed than myself".
Dennis Farina told police that he has brought the .22 caliber, semi-automatic pistol with him on a drive from Arizona to Los Angeles. However he has forgotten that it was in his briefcase when he tried to pass through airport security to board a flight to Chicago.
The actor was booked for investigation of carrying a concealed weapon. When police discovered that the weapon was not registered, the charge was upgraded to a felony and Farina's bail was increased from $25,000 to $35,000. He was released after posting bail.
