 Bill Gates: Plans to donate three million dollars to Myanmar relief fund
Bill Gates, the chairman of Microsoft said on Friday that his foundation will donate three million dollars to the humanitarian relief effort in cyclone-hit Myanmar.
While giving a speech at a conference in the Indonesian capital, Bill Gates said that his philanthropic foundation would channelise the funds through independent aid groups such as Care International and World Vision.
"It's a terrible thing and a great example of how the world needs to cooperate," he said about Cyclone, which killed thousands of people after striking violently into Myanmar's southern coast.
According to a popular magazine, Microsoft founder Bill Gates is estimated to be the world's third richest man with some 58 billion dollars. |
