Whoopi Goldberg: Will serve as host of 2008 Tony Awards
Whoopi Goldberg will become the host of Tony Awards of 2008 that is scheduled to be held on 15th June at Radio City Music Hall. The hot news came from Ricky Kirshner and Glenn Weiss, the executive producers of the show. They have made the announcement on Thursday.
"I love Broadway and I'm thrilled to be doing anything for the first time," "I'm gonna have a blast." adds Whoopi Goldberg. Previously also she has served as host at the prestigious Academy Awards for 4 times.
Whoopi Goldberg use to appear regularly on ABC's program titled "The View." There are several other programs that are glorified by her vibrant presence. Special mentioning may be made of the revivals of "A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum" and "Ma Rainey's Black Bottom."
The sixty second annual Tony Awards, which felicitate the best of the 2007-08 Broadway season, will be on air live from 8-11 p.m. EDT on CBS.
All the nominations of Tony Awards will be announced on Tuesday.
