 'The Forbidden Kingdom' became hit in China
Kung Fu film "The Forbidden Kingdom' has captured a good market in China and became hit.
First time, martial arts masters Jackie Chan and Jet Li has performed together in the movie 'The Forbidden Kingdom'.
The movie is based on on the Chinese legend of the monkey king, an American teen, who discovers the king's legendary stick weapon in a pawn shop. He is transported back in time to ancient China, where he joins a crew of warriors, who are fighting to free the imprisoned king.
Tang Jingting, a spokeswoman for Chinese movie company 'Huayi Brothers' and one of the film's investors said on Thursday that the Hollywood-Chinese co-production made $21.4 million in 10 days. A movie which makes more than $14 million in China is considered to be a hit.
"The Forbidden Kingdom," which was dubbed in Mandarin for Chinese audiences, has achieved good result.
In the U.S., "The Forbidden Kingdom" has performed solidly and earned $45.7 million since its release on April 18. |
