 Mariah Carey: Confirms her marriage
At last pop star Mariah Carey has broken silence over her marriage. She has confirmed that last week she tied the knot with the rapper-actor Nick Cannon.
One of Nick Cannon’s relatives has also confirmed the news.
New York gossip columnist Paula Froelich, who broke the wedding story, has claimed that the couple got married at Carey’s home in the Bahamas last Wednesday.
The 39 year old singer Mariah Carey told the website, "We really do feel we are soulmates. I never felt a love like this was in the cards for me".
Carey has been dating Cannon since he teamed up with her in a new video in March. The couple has spent the last week promoting separate films at New York’s TriBeCa Film Festival, where the pop diva was spotted wearing a diamond and platinum ring on her wedding finger.
Mariah Carey has sold around 160 million albums worldwide during her long recording career.
Last month she dethroned Elvis Presley after passing the King of Rock 'n' Roll's total number of US chart-toppers with her 18th No.1 hit. Only The Beatles, with 20 No.1's, have scored more.
According to the Recording Industry Association of America, Mariah Carey, who was previously married to record label executive Tommy Mottola from 1993 to 1998, is the third best-selling female artist of all time. |
