 Barack Obama: Wins North Carolina
The pursuit for the Democratic nomination is set on rolling and also entering a new phase of uncertainty. The reason is that Barack Obama wins North Carolina and Hillary Rodham Clinton narrowly picks up Indiana. Senator Clinton got victory with fifty one percent votes while her rival Barack Obama backs up with 49 percent.
The source says that this has twisted the whole drama till date. Hillary Clinton, the New York senator needed a decisive win to counter growing lead of Barack Obama and also to answer critics who argue she has no chance of winning and should end her candidacy for president ship for the good of the party.
Clinton, who was always hopeful, was confident that a win would boost up her argument that she is the one who can win the rust belt states.
Nevertheless her path to victory is very not easy. Clinton can only win the nomination if she can convince the super delegates that she is going to win these voters in a contest against John McCain., the presumptive Republican nominee, John McCain.
Interestingly Senator Barack Obama won North Carolina, due to the overwhelming share of votes of the African Americans.
Barack Obama puts forth his argument that he has won more delegates at the primaries and therefore he should get the nomination. However Obama’s campaign has hit a fall and is also facing defeats in the rest of the primaries.
According to the exit poll report , African Americans, who constitutes of twenty two per cent of the North Carolina population, appear to have voted for Barack Obama in nine times out of ten.
Barack Obama’s win proves to be a shot in the arm for him who underwent a series of losses and also has been trying best to overcome several problems that includes the comments of Jeremiah Wright , his ‘former pastor’.
The Democratic chairman, Howard Dean, has urged that the super delegates should declare their preference after the end of primaries on 3rd June. |
