 Fiona Apple: Gets arrested over drug charge, spends night in jail
Grammy-winning singer Fiona Apple has spent a night in a Texas jail after being arrested on a drug charge (pictured left).
Apple was taken into custody late on Wednesday for possession of cannabis.
As has been reported by TMZ, hashish was found on Apple's tour bus in Hudspeth County, Texas, with a judge later setting a bond for the 35-year-old at $10,000 (£6,200).
Hudspeth County is also where Willie Nelson, Snoop Dogg, and Social Network star Armie Hammer were arrested for similar drug offences.
When asked why so many celebrities were arrested in the small Texas town, the judge who confirmed Apple's arrest replied: "Because they come through here with stuff they shouldn't have", reports Reuters.
In June, Apple released The Idler Wheel..., her first new album in seven years, to widespread critical acclaim.
