Barack Obama: Appearing on 'Late Show with David Letterman'

Barack Obama is to appear on The Late Show with David Letterman next week.

The US President will discuss his bid for re-election with David Letterman on Tuesday, September 18, CBS has announced.

This interview will be Obama's first appearance on The Late Show since September 2009.

Obama has been a guest on the CBS late-night series six times in total, first being interviewed by Letterman after the 2004 election where he won a Senate seat.

Obama's wife Michelle Obama made her third appearance on The Late Show in August as part of her back-to-school promotional tour.

The Late Show with David Letterman airs weeknights at 11.35 ET on CBS.
