Oscars 2013: Director Don Mischer to direct 85th Academy Awards
Hollywood director Don Mischer has been tapped to helm the upcoming Academy Awards ceremony for the third consecutive year.
Mischer has had a 30-year career directing televised events, including the Super Bowl, the Emmy Awards, and the Billboard Awards.
On Thursday (September 13), producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron announced that, Mischer will not only direct the 85th Annual Academy Awards but also produce the Oscars pre-show and Governors Awards.
The producers have said: "For a very long time, we had always hoped to work with Don Mischer. His talent and reputation are unsurpassed and we're so happy he will be our collaborator on the 85th Academy Awards."
The show business veteran expressed his excitement to be involved in the upcoming show, adding: "I am so very excited to be directing the Academy Awards again this year and to be working with creative producers like Craig and Neil.
"All of us at Don Mischer Productions are also thrilled... to continue a wonderfully gratifying relationship with the Academy."
Don Mischer is also set to the direct the upcoming 64th Annual Primetime Emmys.
The 2013 Academy Awards are set to air on Sunday, February 24.
