 Tom Hanks: Supports Obama in presidential race
Two-time Oscar winner actor, director and writer Tom Hanks is the latest Hollywood's celebrity, who supports Barack Obama in presidential race.
Tom Hanks has announced his support for Barack Obama in a video message on his Myspace webpage titled "Beware: Celebrity Endorsement".
Tom Hanks has won Oscar two times for best actor for his performances in "Forrest Gump" and "Philadelphia". He said, "As an official celebrity, I know my endorsement has just made your mind up for you".
In a statement Hanks said that Obama had won his vote because "of his character and vision, and the high road he has taken during this campaign". The 51 year old Tom Hanks added, "He has the integrity and the inspiration to unify us, as did FDR (Franklin Delano Roosevelt) and Harry Truman and John F. Kennedy and even Ronald Reagan when they ran for the job. I want Barack Obama to be president of this country, a country that once said people with his skin color were only three-fifths of a human being".
Barack Obama has already gained supports from Hollywood luminaries like George Clooney, Robert De Niro, Scarlett Johansson and Halle Berry. |
