Christina Aguilera: To be awarded for philanthropy work at ALMA Awards
'Voice' coach Christina Aguilera has been named as the recipient of the 2012 NCLR Special Achievement Award for her philanthropy work.
The artist will be honored with the accolade at the ALMA Awards ceremony, celebrating Latino performers.
The singer is the global spokesperson for World Hunger Relief, for which she recently filmed a PSA.
Once Aguilera explained in a 2011 PSA that, she teamed up with World Hunger Relief to set a good example for her son Max.
On NBC, the ALMA Awards will be aired on September 21 at 8pm ET, hosted by Eva Longoria and George Lopez.
Among the celebrity presenters for the ceremony are America Ferrera, Nicole Richie, Wilmer Valderrama and Michael Pena.
