 Diddy: Comes out of Hollywood
Famous singer cum actor, Diddy, whose birth name is Sean John Combs, has received a Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. It was held on Friday.
"It's also like my coming-out party here in Hollywood," "I don't have nothing to hide about that. If I'm going to come someplace, I'm going to make some noise, and you're going to know I'm here." This is the remark that Diddy has put forth while interviewing the media.
Through video online Diddy asked all his fans to show up for the star-unveiling and sing to the tune of Lupe Fiasco's hit "Superstar." Sitting down at the Beverly Hills Hotel he gave advance interviews with infotainment television shows and a famous news agency.
Not only arrangement for a gala party was also made in the honor of Diddy. The party was held at Beverly Hills estate that belongs to affluent billionaire Ron Burkle.
Fellow actor Jamie Foxx introduced Combs who has revealed his star.
"He throws the best party you've ever seen in your entire life," said Foxx, who inspire dozens of people to shout out “Diddy! Diddy! Diddy!" and sang famous songs of the singer.
"This is big. This is legendary," Foxx told the music label intern-turned-entertainment mogul. "And they will never be able to take this away from you."
Wearing a white suit and slapping hands with Foxx, Diddy remarked “Today is proof that if you believe, all your dreams can come true. I've gone from Harlem to Hollywood." After that he lay down on the red carpet next to his star and give pose for all the photographers.
More reports are gathered from varied sources. Presently Combs is searching for house in Los Angeles and plans to split his time between here and New York in order to give shape to his acting career. In fact Diddy has been going through the scripts and search for interesting roles.
He calls it the right time to stop and also throws light on current successes. "Sometimes you got to take a step back and breathe and enjoy and realize the magnitude of it, where you came from, how hard you worked, all the people that rode with you through your ups and downs,” adds Diddy.
Family and friends from New York's Harlem neighborhood were present at the ceremony that was organized outside the Hollywood and Highland shopping complex.
Diddy said "It inspires them," "It inspires, you know, millions of young people all over the world that are in a place that I grew up in right now, and they want to make it to that point. I don't know if we know where Brad Pitt came from, or George Clooney.
"People are familiar with my journey, so it may inspire them more," "So whether it's Eminem or Britney Spears or myself, you know of that journey. Whether it's coming from a small town, coming from a trailer park in Detroit, or coming from Harlem, New York. So when certain things happen to us, it's bigger than us. It inspires people." adds the artist.
Talking about the party Diddy refers it as an "intimate 250-person party" with "just very very close friends and family and people that I know throughout the industry."
Diddy commented "I've had great parties with no celebrities there, great parties with tons of celebrities. We're all people,"
When asked about the cost of this extravagant party, Combs chuckled “It's up there, but I can't confirm it's $4 million. It's priceless."
Beautifully decked up in a royal blue colored sweater along with a stylish shirt and tie, with cufflinks and a Cartier watch, Combs commented that he did not want to reward himself for the Walk of Fame star with any new toys or trinkets. "We going through a recession right now, so I'm cutting back," "Whatever I don't need, I'm just not buying it." said Diddy.
But he does have a few suggestions if friends are worried about what to get a guy who seems to have everything: "This party that we're throwing, it is a gift. I'm not going to turn down a gift. So if somebody wants to buy me a Maybach or a house in Beverly Hills, I'll accept it."
Importantly Combs said he is still in dilemma whether to launch a lawsuit against the Los Angeles Times, which last month taken back a story. The story tells about the associates of Combs who were behind an assault on Tupac Shakur in the year 1994 and that he knew about it as well.
"I don't have nothing against them now," "And if I sued them, they'll understand it's business. It's not personal. Just like if they were going to write a story about me, it wasn't really personal, it was business. But they didn't handle their business the right way. I was happy that I kept my faith in God and that the truth came out as quick as it did."
Diddy who has started the careers of ‘Notorious B.I.G. and Mary J. Blige’ have more to express. According to him, he is back in the studio now, preparing for another album.
Diddy’s comments too are significant. "I'm a definition of how to build a brand and a 360 model. I feel like I'm the definition of that." "This new concept that people have, I've been doing it for years. Creating a way out of no way, making lemonade out of lemons, that's what I do”. This has been added by Diddy.
"So if the music industry's getting cannibalized by the Internet, I figure out how to work with it, I figure out how to survive. You throw me in the jungle butt-naked, I come out with a lion's head, some bearskins and a bunch of food. I may be driving a Maybach." |
