'The Inbetweeners': Movie sequel confirmed
The co-creator of 'The Inbetweeners', Damon Beesley, has confirmed plans for a movie sequel.
A follow-up to 2011's The Inbetweeners Movie is currently in the early stages, which will see Joe Thomas, James Buckley, Simon Bird and Blake Harrison return for a second outing, Beesley revealed.
"I don't want to give too much away at this stage but yes, we have been developing an idea for a sequel," he told The Sun.
"We miss working with Simon, Joe, James and even Blake too much not to give it a go."
on Twitter, co-creator Iain Morris also confirmed Beesley's comment. When asked if the movie plans were true, he said: "Yes, but it's far from signed and like Damon said we want to make sure we have a good enough story to tell."
Also, Beesley added that, he hoped "to make sure that we can do justice to a follow-up".
The four stars in the film will reportedly net £2.5 million ($4 million) each in the project, after getting up to £500,000 ($787,177) in total from the first installment.
As added a source: "The Inbetweeners took off like a rocket, far beyond many expectations.
"The budget was low and no one got shedloads of money up front, so understandably everyone wants to cash in the second time round."
On September 7, the first Inbetweeners film will receive its full release in the US.
